Accomplishments and Awards

2008-2009   SWIMBA is growing and maturing as an organization.  Membership has increased significantly in the past year, and new members sign up at or after almost every SWIMBA group ride.  The number of volunteer hours has steadily climbed over the past few years for both trail building and public awareness events.  The SWIMBA website has been improved and has become the best site to get news and information about all mountain biking and trail-related events in Southwest Idaho.

SWIMBA and other trail-user groups frequently cooperate to educate trail users on trail etiquette and to reduce conflicts between user groups.  The organization has also collaborated with Ridge to Rivers produce public service brochures and signs. All of the new trails built in the Boise Foothills within the last year have been have been funded in full or in part by SWIMBA.  In addition to funding trails, the organization has donated almost $20,000 to cycling-related groups in the community, including programs to support refugees who have settled in Boise.
