This class will help participants build confidence in their descending skills, uphill climbing skills, balance and speed. During this weeklong, half-day camp, explore the single-track trails on the Boise Front and learn skills on proper bike maintenance, equipment responsibility, technical riding skills, safety, sharing, and respect for others and the sport of cycling. Topics include first aid, safety and communication, city riding, trail etiquette, technical riding skills, bike maintenance and care, fitness and nutrition, and an overview of racing. The camp includes instruction on all aspects of mountain biking and is designed for participants who feel they are ready to be more involved in the sport of cycling. This camp is meant to increase participants’ abilities to ride more often and safely, and take on more difficult trails and riding challenges as well as an interest in racing. It will be an exciting and fun journey. Riders signing up for this class must have completed a Youth Cycling Beginner Program or receive prior approval to join from instructor. Camp will include riding in the foothills and a day in the Bogus Basin area and one day at the Idaho Velodrome and Cycling Park.
