SPRING

 WOMEN’S ADULT MOUNTAIN BIKE BOISE (18+ yrs)

Cycle for fitness, fun, and ride with other women who enjoy cycling.  This class will focus on creating a comfortable environment for women to fine-tune their basic mountain biking skills.  Participants will discover the beauty of the Boise Foothills while they work on technical riding, basic bike maintenance and care, fitness and nutrition, training techniques, trail riding and map use.  This class will help participants build confidence in their descending skills, uphill climbing skills, balance and speed. Class is based out of fort Boise Community Center, 700 Robbins Road and is co-sponsored by the Southwest Idaho Mountain Bike Association (SWIMBA).

ADULT MOUNTAIN BIKE BOISE (COED)

Clinics will focus on technical riding, basic bike maintenance and care, fitness and nutrition, training techniques, trail riding and map use. Participants fine tune their descending skills, uphill climbing, balance, speed, and confidence. If you are a beginner or someone who just wants to become a better all around rider this class is for you.

PARENT and CHILD MOUNTAIN BIKE BOISE (6–8 yrs and 9–12 yrs) 

This 3-week class allows parents and their children to spend quality time together enjoying the sport of mountain biking. Participants experience the beauty of the Boise foothills while learning important mountain biking skills and building a stronger relationship with each other. Learn new trails, technical skills, safety, bike maintenance, and respect for our public trails. Enjoy the outdoors and learn more about your child and yourself. Class is based out of Fort Boise Community Center, 700 Robbins Road and is co-sponsored by SWIMBA.

Be a part of Boise’s Youth Cycling Program!  During this weeklong, half-day camp, explore the single-track trails on the Boise Front and learn skills on proper bike maintenance, equipment responsibility, technical riding skills, safety, sharing, and respect for others and the sport of cycling.  Topics include first aid, safety and communication, city riding, trail etiquette, technical riding skills, bike maintenance and care, fitness and nutrition, and an overview of racing. Enjoy the outdoors with other young people in a fun and positive way!   Camp is based at Fort Boise Community Center, 700 Robbins Road and is co-sponsored by SWIMBA. Participants meet at the SWIMBA trailer at the Fort Boise Compound on Collins Street.

Cycling Camp - INTERMEDIATE / ADVANCED YOUTH MOUNTAIN BIKE CAMP (9 – 12 yrs)

Taught by local mountain bike experts, this camp offers the interested participant experience beyond the beginner level.  The camp includes instruction on all aspects of mountain biking and is designed for participants who feel they are ready to be more involved in the sport of cycling.  This camp is meant to increase participants’ abilities to ride more often and safely, and take on more difficult trails and riding challenges as well as an interest in racing.  It will be an exciting and fun journey. Riders signing up for this class must have completed a Youth Cycling Beginner Program or receive prior approval to join from instructor. Camp is based at Fort Boise Community Center, 700 Robbins Road and is co-sponsored by SWIMBA. Participants meet at the SWIMBA trailer at the Fort Boise Compound on Collins Street.

Camp includes instruction on all aspects of mountain biking and is designed for participants who feel they are ready for a challenge.  This camp is meant to increase participants’ abilities to ride more difficult trails safely.  Camp is based at Fort Boise Community Center, 700 Robbins Road and is co-sponsored by the Southwest Idaho Mountain Biking Association (SWIMBA). Meet at the Southwest Idaho Mountain Bike Association trailer just north of Fort Boise Community Center on Collins Street. If possible, please bring your own bicycle. A limited number of bicycles are available for program participants.

Cycling Camp - INTRODUCTION TO DOWNHILL MOUNTAIN BIKING CAMP (age 12 – 18 yrs)

Taught by local downhill pros, this camp will be an intense course focused on the skills of downhill mountain bike riding.  Participants will learn the art of drops, bunny hops, rock riding, stunt riding, turning and grace.  Camp will include riding in the foothills and a day in the Bogus Basin area and one day at the Idaho Velodrome and Cycling Park. Camp is based at Fort Boise Community Center, 700 Robbins Road and is co-sponsored by SWIMBA.  Meet at the Southwest Idaho Mountain Bike Association trailer just north of Fort Boise Community Center on Collins Street.
