SWIMBA Committees
At Southwest Idaho Mountain Biking Association (SWIMBA), our mission is to create, protect, and sustain a world-class multiuse trail network that embodies inclusivity and enhances the outdoor experience for all in our breathtaking region.
SWIMBA is growing and we want YOU to be involved. As part of our Strategic Plan, the SWIMBA Board of Directors has created six new committees intended to strengthen our mission and expand our impact across Southwestern Idaho:
Advocacy
The advocacy committee exists to advance and protect access to sustainable, multiuse trails in Southwest Idaho by representing the interests of the mountain biking community with land managers, policymakers, and the public.
Fundraising
The Fundraising committee is responsible for the overall fundraising strategy that supports the financial needs of the SWIMBA organization.
Communication & Education
The Communication & Education committee promotes awareness, engagement, and stewardship by sharing clear, consistent messaging about the organization’s mission, projects, and trail etiquette. It fosters community connections through outreach, education, and storytelling that inspire responsible trail use and support for trail advocacy efforts.
Membership & Volunteer Engagement
To recruit, engage, develop, and retain a diverse membership and volunteer base that strengthens SWIMBA’s trail stewardship activities, advocacy efforts, event participation, and other MTB community programs — while making volunteering accessible, rewarding, and aligned with SWIMBA’s mission.
Trail Building & Maintenance
Oversee all aspects of trail development and maintenance, including planning, scheduling, and executing trailwork. Coordinate with land managers to secure agreements and determine whether SWIMBA will manage projects directly or collaborate with partners such as Ridge to Rivers, Boise National Forest or Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation. Lead efforts to identify new trail opportunities, develop plans, and decide between volunteer builds or hiring professional crews.
Finance & Insurance
The Finance & Insurance committee is responsible for providing prudent oversight and governance in all areas related to finances and investments for the organization.
Each committee will be led by SWIMBA Board Members and include volunteers from our community who want to make a difference. Whether your passion is trails, outreach, events, or supporting operations behind the scenes, there’s a place for your energy and expertise.
