DESCRIPTION:Join us to to help clean up the trail and work on minor improvements at the Mahalo Trail on the Boise Ridge Road. \nPlease meet at the Mahalo Trailhead at 9:30 AM. Dress appropriately for trail work including long pants\, gloves\, and closed toe shoes. Don’t forget water\, snacks\, bug spray and sunscreen! The Mahalo trail is about 4 miles long and fairly remote\, please be aware and prepared. We will likely split into two groups starting on either end of the trail to meet in the middle and work back to each trailhead. Please anticipate to hike at least 4 miles over the course of the day. Also be advised the trailhead is accessed by the Boise ridge road which requires a few miles of travel over an unpredictable dirt road. \nThis event will involve a variety of tasks\, such as cutting brush\, shoveling small amounts of dirt\, moving deadfall\, and improving trail features. There will also be some carrying of tools throughout the whole trail. \nWe welcome everyone to join us and want to ensure all participants feel comfortable and supported. If you prefer to stick to lighter tasks\, such as brush cutting\, please feel free to let us know! You can email us in advance (events@swimba.org) or notify a leader on the day of the event. SUMMARY:Boise Brave Trail Work at Headwaters Trail
DESCRIPTION:Join SWIMBA and the Boise Brave for Headwaters Trail Maintenance on Sunday\, October 27th from 2 to 4 PM. We will be cutting back encroaching vegetation and doing some minor trail repairs on the Headwaters Trail. SWIMBA will provide tools\, but if you have extra clippers\, loppers or a hand saw\, feel free to bring them along (no power tools please). \nPlease wear long pants\, closed toe shoes\, and gloves. \nWe will be meeting at the top of the trail on the Boise Ridge Road (Forest Road 275) just off of Bogus Basin Road. Parking is limited along the Ridge Road\, so please carpool to ensure we can all find a safe place to park. The meeting spot is less than 1/4 of a mile into the Ridge Road\, a dirt road in good shape\, so most cars will have no issue. \nRSVP below to sign a waiver. \n  \n\nPlease note: The carpooling meetup is not an official part of the event. We recommend coordinating rides directly with other attendees. SWIMBA is not responsible for the safety of participants while carpooling.
