The Southwest Idaho Mountain Biking Association (SWIMBA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization passionately committed to championing and nurturing a world-class, multi-use trail network in the beautiful Southwest Idaho region. For over three decades, SWIMBA has played a pivotal role in elevating the trail recreation experience in this area.

At Southwest Idaho Mountain Biking Association (SWIMBA), our mission is to create, protect, and sustain a world-class multiuse trail network that embodies inclusivity and enhances the outdoor experience for all in our breathtaking region.

To lead the charge for Southwest Idaho’s mountain biking future, championing the creation of new trails, securing access to existing ones, advancing rider education, prioritizing trail maintenance, and investing in open spaces to build new trails.

Our Team

SWIMBA was founded in the 1990s and has been a volunteer-led organization. Today our team is led by Executive Director, John Palumbo. The Board of Directors works hard to carry out the mission and ensure the sustainability of the association.

Our Impact

SWIMBA has built and maintained many miles of trails throughout the years. SWIMBA supported the development of the Ridge to Rivers system. We have expanded our reach to areas outside of the Ridge to Rivers system including Eagle Bike Park, Avimor, and Bogus Basin.
